Do Not Be Afraid, Remember 5/16/20 9:00 AM EST by Debra Tuckerdebratucker518@sbcglobal.net

Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well REMEMBER what the Lord thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;" Deuteronomy 7:18

(The phone photo is how we briefly talked to our Brandon, the man in the photo is actually a chaplain named Brandon from Montgomery, TX!) (Our Brandon was hit by a truck traveling 65 mph 5/7/20)

I love the clip in the movie, "Hook," starring Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman.  There are so many biblical applications you can draw out of movies.

Brandon loves movies!! When he was a small child, (actually, Brandon was never a small child haha), he loved to watch movies! Well, because of this love of movies, there was a huge problem at our house.  I was neck deep in the middle of trying to homeschool four children.  (I actually volunteered to take on that task, haha).  So, when I had to work with one child, on a one on one basis, the others were supposed to do their work independently. Therefore the large 35" box TV was padlocked in a closet.  We would roll the TV out on Friday nights for movie nights.

One day, I noticed a screw on the ground, and discovered that Brandon, along with his older brother, had managed a way to reach the unreachable screws on the latch, and to remove the latch right off the wall, so they could watch TV.  When they were fininshed, they cleverly would replace the latch, padlock still attached, and hide the TV.  Their shenanigan's were exposed!

Another time, Gregg, his dad, was in the attic.  He noticed a long power cord running somewhere over the top of the boys bedroom.  We discovered that those two boys had drilled a hole in the ceiling of their bedroom closet, ran an extension cord into the closet, put a small box TV on a high shelf, hid the TV, and watched TV in their own room when we were not around! Found out once again!

So, back to the movie,"Hook".  When Peter Pan, who now was a grown man had forgotten who he was, watched his son, Jack, playing baseball, he discovered something.  Jack had been brainwashed, by Captain Hook.  Hook had convinced Jack that his dad did not love him.  Hook was trying to be Jack's "loving, attentive, dad."

There was a moment when the rooting pirates got their cheer mixed up and said, "Run home, Jack."  Jack's sister was pleading with him to REMEMBER who he was. Jack REMEMBERED who his dad was.  Peter Pan REMEMBERED who he was.

(King) David in the Bible REMEMBERED what God had already done for him.  David had killed a lion and a bear with his own hands with God's help.  That confidence gave David, (the only one who was willing) to have courage to fight the nine foot nine inch giant, Goliath.  David (who was not king yet) said, "I come to you in the name of the Lord!" With God's help, Goliath was taken down barehanded by a stone.

What is your "Goliath," today?  What has God done for you in the past to strenghten you to give you courage to fight "the giant," in your life?  Remember those moments, stand on those moments, remind God of those moments, and be encouraged today.

Brandon rolled his brother's truck traveling 70 mph and walked away without a scratch.  Brandon has been in a four car pile up and has walked away without a scratch.  Brandon had two eye surgeries and did well. Brandon has had several concusions, and has been fine.  Brandon severely broke his wrist, and still retained all his strength.  I will REMEMBER!!

Everybody's Brandon has bumped his head, (because he has children, we will keep it in child's language), but we declare with God's help, that Brandon will have THBI.
Totally Healed Brain Injury!!!  Brandon can see the Duke Chapel steeple out of his window.  I pray that Brandon will REMEMBER all of the Bible scriptures that he has memorized. I pray that he will have lots of talks and laughs with God.  I pray that the steeple will encourage him, will comfort him, and that God will surround him with hugs when we cannot.
God will come through.

Thanks again to his buddy, first responders, nurses, doctors, hospital workers, friends, family, and to God!!! We couldn't do this without you!
